About the film
Filmed across eleven days spread over four months, mostly at first light and mostly in the rain. The aim was to make the work legible — what the tide dictates, how long the sorting takes, why a bad week in February matters in August.
It is a quiet film with very little narration. What carries it is location sound: water, wind, the specific noise of shells moving in a crate. The grade holds onto the grey rather than warming it up, because the grey is the point.
